For fun I typed in for a search: Where are the Rocky Mountains located? I’m amazed that some sites only mention that the Rocky Mountains are located only in the USA. The Rocky Mountains are actually located on the western side of North America.
These rocky mountains stretch 2000 miles from

the Mexican frontier, through the U.S.A. up Canada and onward to eastern Alaska.

The Rockies have over 100 different mountain ranges with the highest point standing at 14,433 ft (4,399 meters) in Colorado, namely “Mt. Elbert”.

I thought I’d write about the Rockies because they will be my families “back door” in about one week. We can’t wait to take a camping trip in the summer and ski on Banff’s Lake Louise, Whistler, Kicking Horse and other famous spots. I’ve skied these mountains numerous times and driven through them for weeks and have always left wanting more.

Stay tuned for more information on the Canadian Rockies.
