WAYS TO HELP PREVENT GLOBAL WARMING

There are so many ways to help prevent global warming. Here are some that we all can do:
1) When you buy anything, consider it’s “life” - meaning the 3 big “R’s” Reduce, ReUse, Recycle. Ask yourself how is it made, how is it packaged, how long will it last, when its lifespan is completed how much garbage will it create? We live in such a “must have” society, feeling like we have to live up to the “Jones” next door. We as parents need to “pull in the reins” so our children don’t have the same obsessive behaviors. Which brings me to:…
2) Have a garage sale or organize one with co-workers.
3) Change an incandescent light bulb to fluorescent.
4) Drive less. Schedule all your errands into one trip. A warm engine runs far more efficiently than does a cold one.
5) Donate to causes that help global warming and climate change.
6) Call your local governing office and ask them what they are doing about global warming.
7) Plant a tree or a plant - just something “green”, is one of the great ways to help prevent global warming.
8) Talk to your friends and neighbors about your concern of the environment.
9) Get involved at work: suggest recycling bins or set up a tree planting day. Arrange into groups for carpooling.
10) Eat a meatless meal 2 - 3 times a week.
11) Don’t use the drive-thrus at fast food establishments. Save the drive-thrus for moms with babies or the handicapped only.
12) Get your news from internet/tv or subscribe to just the weekend newspapers. You can even split the cost with a neighbor - you get to read it in the morning, they read it in the afternoon (whatever works) It’s staggering the amount of trees - 10’s of thousands - that are cut down to supply just America with one a one-day weekend edition. Now thats bordering on insanity.
13) Get your name removed from unsolicited snail mail (junk/direct) mailings. Go hereand submit online. 250,000 homes can be heated with just one days mailings of junk mail.
14) Try a solar panel or two and experiment with solar power.
15) Buy a wind turbine for your home and cash in on wind energy. It increases the value of your home too.
16) Compost.
These are just small ways to help prevent global warming and they’re so simple to accomplish without much effort.
