Growing Tomatoes in ContainersWelcome back. I mentioned I was going to keep an update on growing tomatoes in containers and I’m happy to report, so far so good. It’s been 3 weeks (we had lots of snow around the 24th of May - so I waited a little longer to plant) since I’d planted both tomatoes in 1) soil and 2) growing tomatoes in containers.

The verdict to date:
1) the tomatoes growing in containers are the exact…

same size as those in soil
2) the tomatoes growing in containers need one extra watering than the same period as those in the soil, so not too bad
3) neither plants have a flower on them yet - my guess is its due to the late planting and somewhat cooler temperatures than that of Toronto
I was thinking of bringing in the growing tomatoes in containers at night, but that would give them an unfair advantage. So with all things being equal - save the area they are planted in, it is starting to prove that even if you live in an apartment or you have no yard for fresh vegy planting, growing tomatoes in containers will do the same job - and hopefully, I will harvest the same amount of fruit.
See You in a couple weeks.

Peace.
