South Pole Telescope

Now this South Pole Telescope (SPT) is really cool. It’s a whopping 19.2 million dollar telescope that can scan a vast area of sky quickly. It is expected to capture images of up to tens of thousands of galaxies in a few years.

Some of the science behind the south pole telescope is a little out of my realm, but it does make me feel rather small.
It’ll be used in Antarctica to detect cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation. This CMB is tooted as the afterglow of the Big Bang…

Crazy enough, because of the CMB and science telescopes, our universe is aged at 13.7 billion years old.
So this new south pole telescope will help the scientists map out the growth of our galazy and galaxies beyond.

How many years, at the rate of human destruction and global warming, did the world scientists say we have left?

We’re small, but mighty and pretty ugly right now.

Peace.
