NASA To Put A City On The Moon
December 7th, 2006 by admin
It was July 21, 1969. I remember lying on my tummy on the floor with my chin perched on my closed fists, watching our black and white TV with my brother. We were both tired but anxiously awaiting to see live, the landing of the first man on the moon.
His name was Neil Armstrong. Upon touching the moon with his left foot he quoted:
“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
As a child, I never realized just what that dream meant to him or the scope of what would emerge in the years to follow.
A $17 Billion dollar budget formula was created by 13 various space agencies located here on earth. This project on the moon will be used as a stepping stone by us earthlings for further exploration into our galaxy – the colonization of Mars.
I never thought I’d call myself an earthling let alone hear myself say “the colonization of mars”. Sounds like I’m from outer space.
I can just see our headlines in the years to come: “Would you prefer to be called: an Earthling or a Human Being? Submit your vote today”. Or how about “Mother Nature” for earth is taken, so how about we call the energy force on the Moon “Pappa Joe”? Guess it remains to be explored.
Peace.
