Here’s the good news. For the past 7 months or so I’ve been writing so much about the bad news of global warming and climate change, I’m changing my focus so-to-speak. My attention will be not so much on the bad news, but rather, the good news.
How we all can help to make a difference in our own ways differs greatly in some respects but not in others. For example, you won’t see too many farmers worried about the most economical vehicle to get them to and from work, rather their focus may be when can I get that wind turbine installed. Or for a broad scope, we all can try to use a little less energy today and turn off a room’s light we are not in.
Sure, I’ll post on an irregular basis about important headline news when the bigger pictures finally start to change, when we start to see and feel good news results. I’ve become so engulfed in the doldrums of our interactions with nature, that I just don’t believe there needs to be another “complainer”. I realize without a doubt in my mind that climate change and global warming do exist. I believe in numbers/facts and I’ve been overwhelmed by them.
I don’t have those “behind the scene” facts like those of Al Gore, but…
I do have access to the internet and finding “greener pastures” for us as a society to use. In this regard, I will feel this blog will be well rounded, meaning you’ve heard some very compelling facts and stories about our negative impact on planet Earth, and you will continue to almost from every news-stand, everyday. Yet now, you will hear, see and find great alternatives that you can act upon and make use of should you so require it, that are as green as I can find.
So my good news approach will be geared towards how to fix the problems we have. To help find “avenues” for us to make positive changes to the situation. They may be from house loans (hey, we all need a place to survive and I don’t see many tepees around much anymore on this side of the globe) to great places to find compost or anything else that will help our daily living become less entangled with our environments sensitive ecosystems.
By sharing good news, I will be able to sleep better at night knowing if just one source has helped one person, it’s one step closer to our goal as a community…and in my belief, our earth is just one big honkin’ community.
Peace.
