Al Gore Movie

The Al Gore movie “An Inconvenient Truth” is without exception painful to view. Global warming and our delights in having another warm day and no snow in winter is telling us something has gone very askew. The Al Gore movie presents our current and future demise, with such restraint of pain, it’s admirable. How can Al Gore sleep at night? The presentation of An Inconvenient Truth is a very profound, thought and action provoker, that I’ve had tears on and off the day after viewing (this past Sunday actually). With eloquence he presents facts on the state of our planet and global warming. He leaves you with a certain amount of hope (thank God for that) that we as individuals can make a difference.

On the other hand the Al Gore movie…

will have you question “Am I doing enough”? I was left feeling guilty of my consumptions, and I am described by my Mother as “someone who travels light on this earth”. I am without excess in regards to modern day societies “grading” if you will, and have always been proud of it. My habits, likes and dislikes are now fully understood by my husband. He didn’t understand why I prefer cross country skiing to snowmobiling, or canoeing instead of power speed boats (my list will bore you so I won’t continue). But still, I was left numb from discovering just how much more can and should be done by all of us.

Some of the reviews I’ve read have, with prediction, picked apart this Al Gore movie to bits. The movie presents such a ridiculous amount of concrete facts on global warming, that it makes those who are skeptical look very small. They didn’t “get it”. What will it take? I know: a flower to bloom in the middle of winter in the North Pole. If we waited that long we’d all be dead. I mean for heaven’s sake, polar bears are drowning because there is not enough ice anymore for them to swim to. To end this skepticism, if you are the skeptic, may I be so bold to request that you take off your rose colored glasses and put on some green ones.

The Al Gore movie is without a doubt factual, current, extremely concise for matters that matter, compelling, scary, and eloquent, and one that all must view. Ignorance is no excuse, and I’m real tired of hearing it. For a former US Vice President (year 2000) I am oh so thankful that someone with his clout and finally, due respect, is putting in their time where their pocket isn’t concerned. He knows what matters, he’s getting the point across and now it’s up to all of us to do something and not let us all that are trying, die in vain.

Want to join in?

Peace.

Nice post on “An Inconvenient Truth”. I think the film changed some people’s minds about Al. He may yet run for president.

Gore was ahead of his time four years ago, and has propelled to the forefront of this global topic, we as individuals MUST become more concerned as to amount and forms of energy that we consume on a daily basis. Interesting how the UK is now offering in home evaluations of energy consumption and ways to reduce (including mode of daily transportation) What is your footprint?

Hi Gizelle - as a human, I’m a size 8 lol…..but good question. I don’t think it’s humanly possible to leave this planet - at least within modern day societies - without having some form of a negative impact. But rather than “what” is my footprint, I see my footprint more as “how big” - so I try to be as gentle as I can and be a voice as far reaching as I can.

    Peace.
